Haiti Relief Mission

From Pastor Joe Roof, Calvary Baptist Church, Albany, NY:

The needs in Haiti are growing greater and greater. It is one of the most desperate places on the planet as I write this email. Evangelist Mike Pelletier is a friend of this church and he has brought a ministry opportunity that I would like to pass onto you. Mike has been in Haiti 4 times and on February 15, he will be leaving with a gospel-centered relief team. Their goal is to cooperate with Operation Renewed Hope in bringing 1000 tents, 5000 sleeping bags, and 5000 pairs of flip flops to help bring some relief to thousands of scared and desperate people. He has a container sitting Miami that will be used to ship the items there.

If you do not attend Calvary Baptist Church, you can send your gifts to Calvary Baptist Church, 12 Launfal Street, Albany, NY 12205.

Our Mission

We believe that it is the mission of our church to glorify God through our obedience, worship, and service, and to share the Good News of the Gospel to all, in obedience to Christ's great commission.

Church Profile

This Congregation was organized in 1772 by Rev. Samuel Johnson, a Presbyterian Minister. It was recorded as the first religious society of the King's District. The church alternated between the Presbyterian and Congregational denominations until 1884 when it settled permanently Congregational. The church was touched by the Second Great Awakening during the preaching of Rev. Charles Finney. The New Lebanon Convention was held in this church to discuss the methods of Mr. Finney in 1857.

Church Vision

Our vision as a church is to see every believer who worships with us to come into the fullness of the abundant life Jesus Promised us, and to see every believer realize his or her full potential in the use of his gifts and talents to the praise and honor of God. It is our prayer, hope and desire to be used of God to share the good news of His Gospel with those in the community in which we live and around the world.
